How We Score

Short version: we never apply one identical scoring model to every category, and commission never appears in the formula.

Why Scores Are Category-Specific

A single “out of 10” score means little if it’s calculated the same way for a password manager and a mini PC. Instead, every category on URIVIO has its own weighted scoring model built from the attributes that actually determine whether a product is a good fit in that category.

Examples of Our Weightings

SaaS & Software: Business Fit and Features are weighted most heavily (20% each), followed by Automation and Integrations (15% each), then Ease of Use, Pricing and Scalability (10% each).

Hosting: Performance and Reliability lead (20% each), then Scalability (15%), Support (15%), and Security, Backup and Price (10% each).

AI Tools: Output Quality leads (20%), followed by Capabilities, Reliability and Workflow Integration (15% each), then Controls, Usage Limits and Pricing (10% each) and Ease of Use (5%).

Hardware: Performance leads (20%), followed by Thermals, Connectivity, Upgradeability and Software Support (10–15% each), Power and Build (10% each), and Value (15%).

What’s Never in the Formula

Affiliate commission rate is never a scoring input. A high-commission product does not receive a higher score because of its commission — our Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Policy cover this in more detail.

How Scores Are Used

Scores summarise our analysis; they don’t replace it. Every scored product page also explains the reasoning in plain language — strengths, limitations, and who the product is and isn’t right for — because a number alone can’t capture whether a tool fits your specific workflow.
