Editorial Policy
Short version: user decision quality comes before affiliate commission, every time. Our commercial relationships fund the site — they don’t decide what we recommend.
Editorial Independence
URIVIO earns revenue primarily through affiliate commissions, alongside display advertising and occasional commercial partnerships (see our Affiliate Disclosure). None of that changes what we write. A merchant paying a higher commission rate does not get a better review, a higher score, or a more prominent placement because of it.
Our Operating Rules
- User decision quality comes before affiliate commission.
- A high price tag is never treated as a proxy for quality — recommending the most expensive option regardless of fit is not our job.
- Every commercial page is built to help the reader make a decision, not just to generate a click.
- Every product we cover is described with product-specific facts and reasoning — not generic, interchangeable copy.
- Every category is judged against criteria specific to that category (see How We Compare and How We Score).
- Every price is checked before it’s presented as current.
- Every recommendation states who should choose it — and who shouldn’t.
Separating Editorial from Marketing
Vendor marketing copy, press materials and affiliate program descriptions are inputs we read — they are not what we publish as our own judgement. Our specifications and factual claims are separated from our interpretation and verdict, so readers can tell which is which.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it. See our Corrections Policy for how that works, and our Sources Policy for how we source and verify information in the first place.
